At the beginning of March Google modified the design of its identification logo and is gradually introducing it. Anyone who uses Google services such as Gmail, Google Drive, Google Docs or the Google Calendar will quickly notice that the login screen is new.
22.04.2024 –In particular, the classic Google logo is gone. Now you see only a colourful G. This change is also attracting fraudsters. They are using the changeover phase to lure unsuspecting victims on to fake Google pages. It is therefore important that users pay close attention, and make sure they are on the real Google page before logging in or disclosing personal information.
Protect yourself:
- Never enter personal information such as passwords or credit card details on a website that you opened via a link in an e-mail or text message.
- For login screens, always check the URL in the address bar of the browser.
- Be particularly wary of unsolicited emails demanding action and threatening consequences (loss of money, criminal charges, legal proceedings, account or card blocking, missed opportunities, misfortunes, etc.).
- Activate two-factor authentication for additional account protection.
